Poetry a Plenty

Guten tag!

It has been a while since I've posted anything, and it will probably be a while before anyone sees any new material from my book (partly due to writers block and because the direction my book is taking is quite awkward even for me).
So, in an attempt to be generous, I thought I'd post some of my poetry.
Enjoy!

Not but a Torturous Dream

Welcome to my loneliness,
It haunts me every day.
Every time I speak up,
The damage done is equal to the words I say.
Nothing ever changes,
No one ever loves.
For life is but a dream,
Dreamt up by those above.

How can I believe this lie?
I’ve believed in worse before.
Unfortunately all these thoughts begin to stack up.
Without a defense,
Life just keeps coming,
Even when I beg it to halt.
How can I believe that life could be anything other than pain?

This is all a dream!
Please,
Let me wake up.
I can’t stand it any longer,
My sanity’s about to break up.
This all is too unreal!
But whether a dream or reality,
The solution to all of this seems the same,
I must quite my thoughts
Before I become estranged.

Something New

With a broken heart, I wasn’t sure what to do.
When my heart became full I was sure the only reason was you.
Now that you’re almost gone, I can’t help but think.
How will my life will be like without that one, crucial link?

I have given you my heart.
You’ve had my love from the start.
Yet now I’m uncertain.
Maybe life’s now about this imaginary curtain.

You throw me away and give me a ring.
Then you say you love me with the same passion I always bring.
But I’ll keep your heart in a chest.
I’ll cut off the source of my horrid unrest.

Now hang this cross around my neck.
Tell that you’ll be back with a second trek.
I may just leave this world behind.
Just to exorcise this loneliness in my mind.

A Second to Dance: Sing With My Heart

All of your past has led you to this
Hysteria is your product
Save yourself
To heal yourself
Be yourself
Or kill yourself
It's time for you to see life through
The eyes of this hell

Come now
Don't retreat
Insanity is dwelling
Right beneath your feet
I want not but to help
You spread the truth
In love or death
In life or mortuary
Here comes the inspiration you seek

Each breath surrounding
Every second of life
Watching so carefully
You may fall
Victim to your own words
Without conviction
Or hate
You fail to achieve
Such critical reasoning

The Girl

She was a muse
A cancer upon emotions
As if a siren
She would sing so sweetly

I would be drawn in
It was love
I was sure
What I felt

As I got closer
I became more certain
Until the disenchantment
Of what I'd come to know

I came upon awkening
Fast-forwarding in the winter air
Towards realizations
I had never thought before

She was my muse
My love
A false-love
Birthed by false pretense

I know not
What I had felt
What I had thought
Of a cancer so sweet

Where it all Started...

"Hurry up you idiots!!!" The voice of  a 16-year old girl told hordes of cloaked warriors who were dashing in the silver snow up a mountain under the gaze of a purple moon. At the top of the mountain was a giant werewolf/bear hybrid, fighting off multiple of the cloaked warriors. The creature would knock down two, only for eight to take their place.

"Damn..." came the voice once again, "Who would think that we would find a Savage out here?..." Suddenly the owner of the voice was revealed to be a figure only about four-fifths the height of the other cloaked figures. The figure too had a cloak on, with a hood on theirs, covering their face except for the blue lipstick on theier mouth. The figure cloak was also aqua, to the others' black. The figure then took off their hood, to reveal a tanned skin girl with platinum white and raidiant hair. She held out her right arm, her hand up as if she was pressing against wall.

"Stand back!" She cried to her warriors, who jumped off the Savage. Staying true to it's name, the Savage grabbed a few men and bit off their heads, releasing a shower of blood into the sky towards the the unholy moon. Suddenly, a digital cocoon surrounds the beast, whose jaws filled with human blood looked around failing to sense the danger it was in. The girl motioned to her men to get ready. "1st Path! Light's divine course! Luna's Prayer of Pain!"

Moments later, an explosion light roared from the spot occupied by the Savage, and the warriors covered their eyes from the extreme light. When the light dispersed, the beast stood seemingly unharmed, but far more angry then earlier. "Shit... attack!!!!" The girl shouted, but before they could do a thing, another figure in a red cloak similar to the others jumped down from the purple moon above them, landing with his back to the beast and multiple balls of lightning dropping onto the Savage beast behind him. He then smiled, and turned around taking the same position as the girl did minutes earlier. "2nd path, power of electricity, Thunder God's Hammer!!!" He shouted, and a bolt of lightning erupted from the beast position, the difference this time was the damage was obvious, and the Savage would disintegrate into the wind. The men all cried in victory, and the girl sighed a huff of relief. They would set up camp on the mountain peak after burying the dead. The platinum white hair girl would walk up to the red cloaked figure, who was sitting on the edge of the mountain staring at the purple moon. "You sure took your good time getting up here Azazel." The girl told the figure, while handing him a cup of pleasant hot chocolate.

"Hey I told you I am not much of a hiker Eva." Azazel said while taking the hot chocolate.
"But you have no trouble jumping down from the sky like some ninja." Eva spoke strongly, all while sipping hot chocolate.
"What does that have to do with anything?" Azazel asked innocently.
"I'm still wondering why a Savage would be all the way out here..." Eva questioned, ignoring Azazel's question.
"Who knows... this is the second time that a creature that didn't belong here attacked me and my friends." Azazel said, which induced a confused look from Eva.
"It happened back at home in my world... these Mountains were near a place called Cedar Point in Ohio. There a bengal tiger attacked my girlfriend and I. I drove him off by speaking chinese, and a chinese circus group came by and claimed it as their's." Azazel said while sipping hot chocolate.
"Chinese in your world is Taionese here right?" Eva asked and Azazel nodded.
"Indeed. I remember those mountains for another reason though..." Azazel began, only to be countered by an annoyed sigh from Eva.
"What is the corny reason for this? Because your first kiss was here? Your first time?" Eva said, anger covering her face but Azazel laughed. He held out his hand, and a single snowflake fell into his palm. Then, millions of similar snowflakes covered the area, and the moon changed to a beautiful turquiose.

"No..." Azazel said staring at the new colored moon, "It's simply because almost like now, I was staring at a beautiful full moon with a beautiful girl and the sweetest snow you will ever taste..." Azazel, and Eva looked at him with sly eyes.

"Oh? Why almost?" Eva asked still blushing.

"Well, that was just beautiful, not quite the angel you are..." Azazel said, and Eva face lit up almost as quick as the light from her spell hours earlier. She then leaned in on Azazel's shoulder, and they watched the snow dance to the ground for the rest of the night.

Konnchiwa!!!

Here is the coveted story that started Lacrime. This was a story I wrote a long time ago, it was my first attempt at romance... I worte this in sixth grade... so it's not all that good, but it gave life to Lacrime. It's funny, because when I wrote this, I had no idea what first time meant, just that I heard it from some of older kids at schools and thought it meant like actual sleeping with someone. I hope you like it!! Comment on it to give me your thoughts!

Contest Stage 1: Who's Quote is it Anyway?

Konnichiwa!!!

Okay guys it is time for the first stage of my latest contest! OKay so here are the rules:
• The point of this stage is to find the movie, person, or book that said the according quote. There are 35 quotes in total.

• You can use any resource at hand except me, Orrin or Ania(The three judges) to solve the quotes.

• You don’t have to rewrite the entire quote, just the answer.

• When you believe you have all the correct answers, then send it to one of three emails address to be checked.

• If wrong, you will get a return email, telling you which ones are wrong, and you can ask up to three of the quotes to be corrected.

• If correct, unless you sent it to me, you will receive a code from one of the other two, which you MUST send as a private facebook or email message to me, Quinton Staten.

• drquinton@hotmail.com, ania_kaczka@att.net, o.mitchell99@yahoo.com are the three emails to send it too. Now you can send them to whoever, just know, if you send them all to me it will slow down the time it takes to get it back, and someone else might pass you up as a result. So be sure to send some to Orrin and Ania. They don’t bite. ;)

• The contest continues until August 20th, or until we have 64 overall people in the second round. Since Orrin and Ania were kind enough to assist me in this first stage, they will on to stage 2 automatically so only 62 spots are available! So get on those quotes! Here are the Quotes and Good Luck!

1.“You could run from someone you feared, you could try to fight someone you hated. All my reactions were geared toward those kinds of killers – the monsters, the enemies. When you loved the one who was killing you, it left you no options. How could you run, how could you fight, when doing so would hurt that beloved one? If your life was all you had to give your beloved, how could you not give it? If it was someone you truly loved?”
2.“After all, to the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure.”
3.“Off with her head!”
4.“A lot of people give up just before they're about to make it. You know you never know when that next obstacle is going to be the last one."

5.“My momma always said, "Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."”
6.“You love playing with that. You love playing with all your stuffed animals. You love your Mommy, your Daddy. You love your pajamas. You love everything, don't ya? Yea. But you know what, buddy? As you get older... some of the things you love might not seem so special anymore. Like your Jack-in-a-Box. Maybe you'll realize it's just a piece of tin and a stuffed animal. And the older you get, the fewer things you really love. And by the time you get to my age, maybe it's only one or two things. With me, I think it's one.”
7.“You're waiting for a train, a train that will take you far away. You know where you hope this train will take you, but you can't be sure. But it doesn't matter - because we'll be together.”
8.“He's not your friend, he's ours! If somebody's gonna kill him, it should be us”
9.“Cut off a wolf's head and it still has the power to bite.”
10.“I… I am Tetsuo.”
11.“Say Hello to my little friend!”
12.“All right, now, I don't want them to gain *another yard!* * You blitz... all... night!* If they cross the line of scrimmage, I'm gonna take every last one of you out! You make sure they remember, *forever*, the night they played the ____!”
13.“I'll never let go, Jack. I promise.”
14.“They told me there was nothing out there, nothing to fear. But the night my parents were murdered I caught a glimpse of something. I've looked for it ever since. I went around the world, searched in all the shadows. And there is something out there in the darkness, something terrifying, something that will not stop until it gets revenge... Me.”
15.“If you can dodge a car, you can dodge a dodgeball.”
16.“I don't own emotion, I rent.”
17.“So you'd think a psychic would, uh, be on time. You know, like he could foretell if the traffic was going to be bad?”
18.“Anyone want to see a magic trick?”
19.“Hakuna Matata!”
20.“Yo, Rugman! Haven't seen you in a few millennia. Give me some tassel.”
21.“If real is what you can feel, smell, taste and see, then 'real' is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain.”
22.“This is Sparta!”
23.“A dog doesn't care if you're rich or poor, educated or illiterate, clever or dull. Give him your heart and he will give you his.”
24.“I try to open up to what I don't know, because reason says I should have died three years ago...”
25.“Tell your dog not to worry, sooner or later we all lose our balls.”
26.“Run Forrest Run!”
27.“Look, can you do me a favor-can you look out the window for a second? See my father? He's the guy in the green car? Let me tell you about a dream, a boy's dream, and a man's promise to that boy. He looked him in the eye and said "Son, I' gonna buy you a car, but I want you to bring me two-thousand dollars and three A's." OK, I got the two thousand and two A's. OK, here's the dream. Your B minus? Pfff! Dream gone. Kaput. Sir, just ask yourself... What would Jesus do?”
28.“I wonder what grass tastes like.”
29.“Whatever life holds in store for me, I will never forget these words: "With great power comes great responsibility." This is my gift, my curse. Who am I? I'm Spider-man.”
30.“So you're a man who has everything, but nothing.”
31.“I hardly believe in ghost stories anymore, Captain Barbossa.”
32.“Does believing you're the last sane man on the planet make you crazy? 'Cause if it does, maybe I am.”
33.“My name is Robert Neville. I am a survivor living in New York City. I am broadcasting on all AM frequencies. I will be at the South Street Seaport everyday at mid-day, when the sun is highest in the sky. If you are out there... if anyone is out there... I can provide food, I can provide shelter, I can provide security. If there's anybody out there... anybody... please. You are not alone.”
34.“Wisdom is not measured by one’s age, nor their experiences, but how one handles those experiences.”
35.“So many people believe that you only have one life, and that you shouldn’t waste it away. If that’s true though, why do those same people waste your life forcing you to learn this shit right here, only to never use in your actual job.”

OH AND THE PRIZE TO THE TOP 3 FINISHERS OF STAGE 3 WINS..... COPIES FOR THE ENTIRE REY SAGA!!! GOOD HUNTING!!!!

Discussion: Most Legendary Book Series of The Current Era

Konnichiwa!!!!!

So the next topic will be which book is the best book series of our decade? Harry Potter, Inheritance(Eragon), or the Twilight Saga? Each book has it's own qualities. Inheritance is a series about a young dragon rider who has to overcome impossible odds to defeat a 100-year old evil. Twilight is a completely original vampire series about the classic Romeo and Juliet love story that rose uo from nowhere, and Harry Potter is maybe the one of the most legendary book series, from it's wonderful world of magic and wonder, to the it's magical cast of characters. But who Do you believe is the the best? Email your answers at drquinton@hotmail.com and I'll put up the best respond.
