So if you guys are not aware, the Writer's Digest is currently taking entries for their Annual Writing Competition! Every year, they take entries from multiple categories and the best entries win multiple different prizes! There are multiple possible prizes, including a chance to work with real life editors and agents! :D THe possible categories are as follows:

  • Inspriational Writing
  • Memoirs/Personal Essays
  • Magazine Feature Article
  • Genre Short Story
  • Mainstream/Literary Short Story
  • Rhyming Poetry
  • Non-rhyming Poetry
  • Stage Play
  • Television/Movie Script
  • Children's/Young Adult Fiction
Now, one piece can be entered into multiple categories as long as each category. (For example, you can't use a short story for rhyming poem) However, you do have to pay a fee for each entry. For most entries, the fee is $25 for the first entry, $20 for each additional entry. for poems however, the fee is $15, and $10 for each additional entry. This a great way to see where you rank among your peers and possibly get your name out there if you believe you are ready for big time. I will be entering as well, so look out of rme as well! Here's the link, hope to see your entries! The Deadline is May 1st, but they have an extended late deadline for those willing to pay some extra cash.
