Flames eat tragedies

Flames by Venne

I know, I know....this piece is slightly dark. But, dark minds can be pretty good sometimes.

My intention here was to explore a different version of the story I presented last week. Go look at the other piece if you don't remember. The previous premise was a young man who was haunted by a girl he loved and was betrayed by. The same holds constant for this story. However, where the other man was in a calm state of agony, this one's in complete chaos. Additionally, the underlying want for a free life has been gutted and replaced with an insatiable need for the peace of death.

"Insanity"

My fingers grasp the idea on my mind; they hold back the headache that she causes. The chair beneath me is comfy, but this air is suffocating. I grab a math book off of my desk and throw it at the wall to my left. It collides harshly and destroy some of my roommates valuables.
I yell out in frustration. Here come the tears, so hot and unwanted. She should’ve left me alone, but I still chased her. Always, I’m to blame.

I yell out once more and fall out of my chair harshly. The ensuing pain can’t compare with the murderous affection of my thoughts. “Chris?” says my roommate’s voice from behind the front door. The doorknob jiggles but the diagonally turned lock allows neither exit nor entrance. “Let me in! I can help you!” He shouldn't care so much. After all, caring only leads to pain.
“No,” I state plainly before getting to my feet and throwing my chair across the room. Tears come harder than ever as my blurry eyes scan the room. One of my roommate’s lighters falls into sight. I pick it up. With a flick, an orange flame flickers to life. My finger goes to its center and the calming relief of burning flesh sends relief throughout my body. “This’ll work.” I smirk, my hand already on the door of the fridge.
“Chris!” He still tries to get through the door, but nothing will work. Fate drives this situation.
The fridge is open wide and I pull out a bottle of Absolut. Opening the bottle, my nostrils take a huge wiff before my mouth is granted a decent swig. No matter what I said, he had to keep bringing this shit into the room. Oh well. At least it’ll rid me of her...her....her! I yell out once more as I tear my shirt to shreds.
I pour a bit of the vodka on my desk, take another swig, and stuff a thin, long strip of my shirt into the bottle. With a flick of my thumb, I light the shirt ablaze. My mouth distorted into a devilish grin, I slam the bottle into my desk. Glass flies in multiple directions as the desk becomes soaked and the flame starts to catch. Unsatisfied, I flick my thumb again and put a new flame to spilled alcohol. This time, everything works as it should.
“What’s going on in there?!” My R.A. yells from outside the door. “Open up immediately!” The doorknob jiggles again before bodies start ramming into the door.
“Too late,” I whisper, insanity on my face. The flame has caught onto everything, and I close my eyes in anticipation of the second when my memories of her will die.

Fate drives me.

His Grace

This is something I wrote in the beginning of May. I was feeling kind of down, and I felt so distance from God. So I decided to write this poem describing my feelings along with the truth of God through it. I hope this touches you as it did me, Enjoy!
Grace be with you all
, Alex S.

It feels like fate is pulling you away from me.
Please do not leave me.
I wish I could be with you always.
You have turned your face away from me with sorrow;
For I have loved another.
Do you still love me?
How many more failures will it take
Solely to realize you are the only one for me?

You care for me like a father;
You died for my sake.
It is foolish to ask if you love me.
For you say you love your children unconditionally.
But father, am I even worthy of your forgiveness?

All the sins I have committed,
They are too many to count.
But still you love me,
Thank you.

Talking

Hey it's Aulene!!!! I wrote this while I was just tired of everything. Adults tend to think very little of young people who have so much potential.

please comment!

"Talking"

You're just talking
Talking down to me
How would you like it?
To be treated like a doll.
Stepped on, thrown, and pulled.
I may be small but I have...
I have... fight
Against it.
I'm done being looked down on
I matter
My grip may not be as strong
But it's strong enough

To keep me standing.
You're just an obstacle
Put in my way to challenge me.
Make me fight
Make me stronger.
You attack me
Words piercing me
"college"
"lazy"
"reality"
I know!
My grip on them may not me as strong,
But it's strong enough to keep me standing.

Deception

Hey guys! Well it has been a while since I have posted, but I am here again with something new that I have just written.  For those who may be confused about what is happening, it is story of someone being tempted by the manifestation of Satan; it shows how he will try and deceive you with things of this Earth. But, if you reject these things, he will stop the masquerade and try to destroy your soul by attacking it fully, and to defeat him we must call on our Savior Jesus Christ to save us.  This is what I have tried to illustrate to you.
Grace be with you all
, Alex S.

“6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.” – Galatians 1: 6-9

Temptation

It was so peaceful here. The sky was clear, birds chirping in the distance. The only thing that could make it perfect is if she was here. “Who is this 'she' you are thinking about?”
I turned around to see a tall man dressed in a tuxedo looking off into the distance. “Excuse me?”
     I love you…
He responded without giving me a single glance. “Who is this lady that wish to be with?”
“How could you possibly know what I was thinking?”
“Ahh, but you see I am here for you and your benefit only. That was only a parlor trick compared to what I can do.” I looked into his eyes for what seemed a long time, although only a couple of seconds. His eyes seemed to lure me in. And I wanted to know more of what he could do, so I asked him.  He chuckled, “I can give you anything you want, happiness, the love of your life, and even salvation.”
I raised my eyebrow at the latter statement he made about salvation. “But I am already a Christian...”
     I love you…
“You don’t understand son, this salvation is completely free, all you have to do is abandon this faith that you think can save you.” I kept silent leaning closer to him. “You see, this faith in Jesus Christ who supposedly died for you is a lie that everyone tells you to keep you in line and keep you from truly having fulfillment in your life. With me I can have all the peoples of this earth praising your name even after death.”
This was quite the offer, everyone praising me and anything I could ever want in a lifetime. The man’s eyes became wide with anticipation.
“Out of curiosity I have to ask, how do you know that everything I believe is a lie?”
“Well it is quite simple actually, someone made the whole thing up for a story that they were writing, and some of the religious fanatics took the man’s story seriously.”
     Run from evil…
I sat there for a moment considering everything he had said. I stood up, looked the man in the eyes and shook his hand. “I’m sorry but I am already taken.” I then started to walk away from the man. Only a moment later I felt myself trapped in his grasp with his arms around me. “What do you want from me?” I gasped trying to struggle free. He leaned his head closer to mine whispering into my ear, “I want your soul.”  I panicked; I needed to get away from this monster. I squeezed my eyes shut praying, pleading with God to save me from this.
The man was laughing, he was laughing at me and my weakness.
I am strong in your weakness…
“I gave you a chance at everything, and you rejected me, so now I will devour you.” He said confidently.
I couldn’t hold it any longer; my strength was failing me.
“God save me! Have mercy on me!” I screamed aloud. And in a blink of an eye I was released from his grip, I looked all around and the man had completely disappeared. I fell to my knees praising the one true God, thanking Him for saving me from death.

Puppeteer

Hey guys it's Aulene! I am back! Sorry I left for a while :( There was a lot going on and just not enough time in the day it seemed. Well, this is a new piece of mine. I wrote it about two months ago, and I got inspiration from an old friend. I really liked him but was done with him toying around with my heart. So I wrote this and...ya! I hope you like it.

Comment please!!!! <3

"Puppeteer"

I run
I jump
I scream
I fall
Down
Down into the damp blades of grass
Shadows clawing at me
Blood spilling with each lash
You were a bad gamble
A stranger in a crowd
An unfamiliar mask
Crying out your soul
Ripping through your strings
The strings that bound you
Bound you to your maker
Your puppeteer
Cut my strings

Fiction Reemerges From the Ashes of Life

My name is Christopher Shorten, although many of you may have come to know me as "Alex Arlington" (the main character of my two unpublished novels).

It's been over two years since I started this blog by introducing Quinton and I and our innitial writing projects. Since then, I've been criminalized for the material I've posted on this blog, come to love a girl I've seriously wronged, watched our viewership skyrocket, and lost my best friend to tragic times. All-in-all...it's been a hell of a two years, and I hope you all have enjoyed it, because I'm just getting started. After a long hiatus, I am back with new material and a new outlook on the future.

Out of my new revelation has come some interesting ideas, but this next piece concentrates on an older idea. If you're familiar with my writing, then you're familiar with the contrast I pose between lust and love. In essence, I think the contrast fuels much of my social ideology, but I'll let my words speek for me once more

----------------------------------------------------------------

"Love, tell me lies. I want you near."

“Sing for me,” she whispers so sweetly unto my ear. The chill of her candied breath shakes my sleepless mind. “Tell me what you think. I want to know, everything.”

“I’m not so sure,” I mutter, enjoying the constant flow of her breath behind me as we stand under a massive archway. No crowd passes. No birds chirp. Alone, in silence and peace we stand, and there we stay. “Will you still feel the same?”
“Won’t you sing for me? Solely of all the beauty you’ve seen in me, in this place.”
“But beauty can’t be seen, only felt. For what purpose should I sing of a feeling?” She wraps her delicate arms around my neck, over my shoulders. Delicate, soft, and tan, her hands grasp each other upon my chest as her lips crawl closer toward my ear.
“But the feeling has been felt, no doubt. What could be so bad about singing what your heart knows true?”
“But...But...” I stammer, “my heart has yet to know you...”
“Surely it has!” she exclaims softly still. “Your body has known me several times. The heart is of the body.”
“But the body is not of the soul,” I interject
“Then throw it aside.” She nibbles upon my ear so delicately that a shiver comes once more. I can swear the birds have upstarted yet again, for surely angels must be singing a tune in my favor.
“You are stubborn, but lovely; sexy, yet flawed.”
“Thank you, now sing,” she tempts me still, but the words fail to come.
“I cannot.”
“Surely...”
“I cannot! I cannot! I cannot! Must you hear it three times more?!” Her lips back away from my tender ear.
“Not even for me?”
“My heart, and I alike, have yet to know you, so what could you possibly mean?” Her arms retreat and she steps ‘round to twelve o’ clock. She’s lovely, but holds nothing for a man without lust.
“Am I not the fairest?” she states with a cute expression.
“A goddess you may be, but beauty escapes you,” I sing out, bringing red to her face. Embarrassment follows my words but a fury covers her face all the same.
“If you must be so base!” She slaps me with a toughened hand without hesitation. I take the blow, hold my ground. Not pride, but assurance grasps my soul as I stare plainly into her wanting eyes. “I shall leave.”
“You were never here anyways,” I mutter. With that, she fades to the air and my people return, walking through the archway and around the world, alive before my eyes. The birds sing and the cherubs greet me with the sight of love. “Nora,” I whisper as she replaces the former entity.
“Tom,” she whispers as tears mark her face; she runs to embrace me. I hold her tight; for I’ve known her many times before. “Will you sing for me?”
“Always,” I whisper into her ear. “My heart is yours to keep; my sins, yours to destroy. Just never leave. I’ll be all you’ll ever need.” A gust erupts to mark the sore ear left by the goddess. In her voice, it whimpers still:
“Why couldn’t I be her?”

----------------------------------------

Next week will bring new posts from the other writers still on staff (a few have left our group during my hiatus). If you have any questions, comments, etc. feel free to leave them below, and I'll respond quickly. Until next time, my unknown friends.

Believing Atrocities

My heart stops and I see the light, or maybe something worse...
My hips stop and the situation makes her cum first...
Problems fade but the past never forgets,
except for her no longer being among my regrets.

“Hermosa,” I whisper as her body shows upon my dreams.
But failure, by name, is what time continually sings;
For her heart stays in a safe, protected and secure
while I wait, her beauty as a lost lure.

“Show me your tragedy,” she mutters under me.
I can’t help but find words that are less than free.
“No, beautiful, show me your scars,” I state
she’ll be gone from here at this rate.

Now she snuggles close; I treasure her touch.
All that I could ever want from her isn’t much.
No, just her smile is all I want to ask for,
the pure essence before lustful torture.

She shivers and the blanket now covers.
Forever, I want us to be more than lovers.
“Give me your heart, and I’ll give answers,”
drops words from those lips of hers.

“I gave it to you long ago,” I think, but don’t tell.
“You’ve never had to ask!” I want to yell.
Her face buries deep into my comfortable chest
as if she had already known all the rest.

“Will you give me yours?” I finally ask.
“That seems like such a hard task,”
She finally answers me back
but my heart goes off track.

Start again my loathsome adrenaline.
I’ll wish to forever be your friend again,
If you keep my words constant and still
against my stupid, destructive will.

Something New

Hey guys, its Aulene. I am sorry I have not posted in a while. I have no idea what this is about or where the inspiration came from, I just started writing and this is what happened. Let me know what you think and please comment!!!!!! Thank you!!!

What is it?
Something new
Something strange
Something odd

A new face
Something to think about,
Let your mind wonder
Explore the unknown
But find it
Find a familiar face

Who is it?
Someone old
Someone known
Someone safe

Lean on me and let me guide you.
Listen to my voice
Follow me
Out of the dark,
But into the shadows.
Do you trust me?

What is it?
Something new
Something strange
Something odd

Take my hand
You know who I am
I'm not someone new,
I'm not someone strange
I'm not someone odd.

You know who I am.
Just listen.

For Your Glory

I'm a Christian. I've been growing in my faith and have been challenged in it as of late. This poem is simply a statement to God that He's in charge of my life and I'll do as he asks. I'm thinking of perhaps turning it into a song (and thus adding more stanzas). Let me know what you think.

For Your Glory
God, you've got me by the hand
Down a path you're leading me
Guide me to the ends of the earth
Where I can give you glory.

God, you've got me by the heart.
Turn me from the things of death
Guide me to eternal life with you
Where I can sing you praises.

I'm here for your use
However big or small
or even not at all.
Here I am all for your glory.

Would You?

Hey guys! Yes, as you can see I have written yet another poem. As I said in my last post it is something close to my heart. Anyways! Read and enjoy!
Grace be with you all,
Alex S.

Is it love?
Is there something to this?
Do you feel what I feel?
I'm scared to move-
What if the ground I stand on falls?
What if everything I know is a lie?
I don't want to let you go.
You are the reason I wake up.
Without you I am nothing.
Please, how much more must I play this charade that I care not for you?
I'm tired of playing games,
Take off your mask and run with me.
We'll fly and change the world,
Take a ride with me?

Post-Easter

As many of you know yesterday was Resurrection Sunday.  Jesus rose from the dead after the crucifixion proving beyond all doubt that He is the Son of God and that He died for our sins.  I hope that all of you had a wonderful Easter dinner spent with family and friends in celebration of this event.  Happy Easter   :)

My Love

Hey guys! I usually don't write poetry, but this is something that has been on my heart and this is how it came out.
I would call this more of a free write than a true rhyming poem. If I were standing next to while you were reading this I would probably blush because this is something that has come straight from my heart and it feels weird sharing it with the world. I feel that a lot of people can relate to this, so I decided to share it. :)
But enough of my talking, read and enjoy!
Grace be with you all,
Alex S.

---------------------------------------

Why do I do this to myself?
I stay up all night waiting for you,
But you are nowhere to be found.
Do you fancy another?
All I want is to talk to you,
Hear your voice one more time,
See your beautiful face one last time.
Do you feel the same towards me
Or is this some sort of illusion?
Please tell me.
It is killing me inside.
I am only a shell of my former being.
Please, I need you;
Do not leave me.

A Dream for Your Presence

I had a dream
and you were there.
Best dream I ever had.
We just talked about how we felt
and how we dreamt
and you made me wonder
how I could ever leave
even if it only were,
for a continuation of my life.

And then,

The dream dissolved into smoke.
I woke to hear the sirens.
That dream I loved so much,
no longer held my attention.
Though I craved for the comfort
of your presence,
my main thought
was how to close my eyes again,
so that I might dream of anything.

As I woke and gathered my thoughts,
that dream of you became foremost in my mind.
Suddenly, I missed you more than ever before,
and the dream you wouldn't do for me as it had done before.
And I roamed the empty house,
and looked for an answer.
Where might I spend the next four years of my life?

A post from Arlington

So Alexander Arlington has allowed me to post some of his material in stead of Saxon's usual artwork. Below is a short untitled piece of prose by A.A.A. Hope you enjoy!

____

I've spent my night in this room. The concept isn't new, neither are the shows on tv. They blare in the background as a chapter of Darker Than BLACK displays upon the screen of my phone.

I'm alone in this dorm. Life isn't any exception. For a year I've been sitting here, waiting for something new. Yet, I never knew that I'd been fooling myself.

"Oh well," I mutter as the stale environment sinks deep into my consciousness. Chapter eight flashes off my screen as I put my phone to sleep with a sigh. So I stand and my phone slips into my pocket. The television is left on as I flee out the door of my room.

Rainy Day Inspiration

It’s raining, it’s pouring;
the sun must be snoring.
With daydreams galore,
the imagination soars.
Putting pen to paper;
Words flowing freely.
I couldn’t think of a better way
to spend this rainy day.

Basically this poem could describe many of the days in Oregon in the winter and spring time. It is a very rainy place, and I've been told that this season's been very mild (meaning light on rain fall). Sometimes I really love the rainy days, like when I am sitting inside and able to write. Other times I really hate the rain, it makes me feel groggy and tired at work. One thing that living in Oregon has taught me is to appreciate every day that the sun makes an appearance. I hope that everyone's week finishes off nicely, and that the weekend is amazing.

Until Next Time,
Terra

The Totschlyger part 2

Hey guys! It's been a while since I have posted, but life has become a whirlwind, luckily I still find time to write on my favorite story as of now.
This story you will find in the last parts of this post have to do with me describing a relationship with a woman. This is something personal to me. Although I wish I had this kind of relationship with her I do not, but nonetheless it is a reflection of my heart and I hope that you will sympathize and enjoy reading this as much as I have writing it.
Grace be with you all, Alex. -

Something suddenly opened behind me, I turned seeing a man in a officer's uniform. I froze, not wanting give away my cover. He sidestepped to the left and gave me a Nazi salute, I hesitated but quickly mirrored his salute and we both said "Hail Hitler". He then motioned me to enter the doorway from which he left. I nodded, and entered as directed. My blood was pulsing, I almost couldn't believe that I had made this far into the secret communications relay ship undetected. Before me I saw what seemed to be hundreds of computers lining the walls of the ship from the front to the back with almost that many workers using them while the rest were running papers back and forth. This is what it was supposed to look like, but how was I supposed to find Hitler's assistant in here? I scanned the room, but there were no signs of any doors. Well it's not like you could see one in the first place. There could be a door on every open space on all the walls, this would be impossible...

I was standing on a metal walkway which was suspended above the whole working area. The man that had let me in had mysteriously disappeared and the entrance where I first came through looked as if it were just a wall...Now I was finally alone. Just the way I like it. I started walking along the walkway, trying to look as if I were a part of this whole operation. With no plan or idea of what to do next, I decided to speculate, and at least gather information on what this whole thing was about. There were so many voices that it was almost impossible to decipher what one was saying from another. I would just have to make my way down there and hope that no one notices that I don't fit in. This is suicide, what are you doing here anyway? I'm here to kill a man that my employers want dead. What did he do to you? Absolutely nothing that I know of, but if my employers have a good mind in hiring me for this assignment , then I'm sure that he's done something wrong. How can you be sure that anyone is right? Man can judge all he wants, but I have no desire to judge; only to kill.

--**--
Footsteps came towards me, stay calm they don't know who you are.
"Ruland Kuefer?"
The voice seemed directed towards me, I turned around. Before me stood a broad shouldered man, who stood at least a foot above my own height. He looked at me sideways, as if he knew that I wasn't supposed to be here. And why did he call me Ruland Kuefer? My name was Dustan...Unless he had mistaken me for someone else. In that case, it was a great thing! I was safe at least for the moment.
"General, I am sorry to disturb you sir, but we had all thought that you disappeared from the ship."

Who was this Ruland Kuefer that he was talking about? It doesn't matter; I have to get past him.
I muttered something under my breath about needing fresh air to the corporal. I walked passed him, but then he turned saying.
"One more thing general: why are you in a private's uniform?"
I spun round grabbed the back of his uniform and hair, and slammed his head over the rail. After pulling him back up to make sure he was dead I quickly shoved him off the side of the ship. The rain would take care of the cleaning for me.

I quickly made my way through the inner workings of the ship making sure to keep my head low and move fast. I finally reached my target's quarters. I looked around making sure no one had followed me. Good, time to get to work. I picked the lock and slipped into a well furnished room, with a red velvet couch, dining area, as well as queen size bed. It was all quite breathtaking, but where was he? He was supposed to be sleeping. My pulse rose, I turned to my right, and there he was a large dark figure standing over me. I jumped back, prepared for anything. He slowly walked out of the shadows revealing his scared face; he was holding a photograph of me and him standing together.
"Nice to finally see you again; Ruland." He said as he chuckled.
"What?"
It was that instant, I just let my guard down for a second and he was on top of me, and before I knew what was going on my muscles relaxed and my world turned to black."

Katrina grabbed my hand pulling me back towards her body. For the longest time she didn’t say anything. I held her tightly never wanting to let go.

“Dustan?” She whispered softly as her head lay on my shoulder.

“Yes?”

“I love you.”

“I love you too.”

There was nothing out here but us, nothing to stop us, we could escape this reality. It was so easy, why didn’t we just leave this nightmare? She was the one who always wanted to leave, but I never knew why. Katrina would never tell me what was bothering her, only that we loved each other and that’s all that mattered.

I ran my hands through her dark, silky, brown hair. Looking into her deep brown eyes I felt my heart melt away to nothing, I would never- I could never- love anyone but her. There is no physical way for me to show her how much I loved her, but only by the look in my eyes. I almost hated the fact that she could see the depth of my love for her. I wanted- no, I needed- to be strong for her, but how can I do this, letting my guard down every time I see her.

Apologies to All

So as you may have noticed there has been a recent lull in content.  We are currently undergoing some difficulties that will (hopefully) be overcome soon.  We're working on getting back on schedule but don't be surprised if we are still a bit sporadic.  As we gather our wits, I ask that you gather your patience. You just might need it.

On another far less serious note! I have thankfully had a small breakthrough during this great and terrible writer's block of mine.  It's one small step for me and one giant leap for.... well for no one really. It's just a small step for me and hopefully an entertaining one for you all. The story behind this piece is pretty simple. I was angry at my mother, we just had a disagreement and this is well... my rage fueled writing that followed. It turned out fairly well in my opinion and sums up most of what I feel was going on between her and I.  We have since begun to mend, but it's a process. While this poem takes a fairly dim view on our relationship, I really do love my mother. She's a great supporter and I couldn't ask for a better mom.

So here it is!

Good Enough

Praying I might catch a break,
and all I get is heartache.
Hoping one day might change it all
but only disappointment does come call.
Tears roll down my face
but no one sees the pain you cause me.

I'm trying to please you,
and me and him.
But no one is happy.
No one is at ease.

I'm alone and frightened.
I'm different, yet treated the same.

I work for your approval
but I only disappoint.
I pray for your love,
yet I'm never good enough.

I'm sorry I'm not the daughter
that you always wanted.
I'm sorry I'm not the child
you always dreamed of having.
I'm sorry I'm not more like
the one that came before me.
But I love you the same as he.

I'm just sorry that I'm
   not good enough
          for you.

Radiant Thursday

Hey Readers, as promised from last week I have the continuation of summaries for the Wicked Lovely series. I covered the first three last week, if you happened to miss my post all you need to do is click here to read and catch up! The last two novels in this series were probably my favorites. So, enjoy.

© HarperCollins

The fourth book in the Wicked Lovely series follows a young girl named Ani.  She is half human, and half faery. Because of her faery heritage she is driven by hungers. All of these hungers work together to involve Ani in a struggle for power  between siblings.  Delvin winds up protecting Ani from the High Queen Sorcha, who is run by logic, and her chaotic twin Bananach, who is the embodiment of war. Mask

Hay guys this is Aulene!!! I recently wrote this piece due to some events that have gotten to me a bit. This piece is about people who you think you know but you really don't. People who you have known for years and you think that you know better than anything. Something happens and you realize that they are not the same person that you thought they were. I have had this happen so many times, and I decided to actually put it into words this time. So ya, here ya go. Let me know what you think! please comment.

"Mask"

Take off your mask,
Show me who you are.
Stop pretending
Its's almost true
It's almost you.
So long you have lied
So long you have hurt
Hidden and betrayed me
I didn't know.
You have decieved me for so long

You're a stranger
Your mask is now who you are
Do you even know who you are?
The real you?
Take off your mask,
Before it's true.
Don't let it define you.
Hold your head up.
Face the world,
Remove your mask.
Define yourself,
Who you are,
QUICK!
Before it defines you.
