Hello from LAYD!

   HI! I'm illya from Life As You Dream (no, illya isn't my real name). I'm really good friends with Quinton here at LIF, and he let me post. I won't be a regular writer here but I'm posting a sample of my writing in hopes that some of you will visit my blog and read my writing along with my partners Sourburglar and Amy....ENJOY!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  Soooooo many people in high school are in relationships nowadays. Most of them don't last a week, but some do. One thing I've noticed is that when people are in a relationship that ends badly, one person is devastated. They write or talk and complain about how they would rather die than live without the other, how they are "in" a dark pit of empty darkness. I, for one, just want a relationship to work, but if it doesn't, it's not the end of the world. Most times, the person you date in high school won't be the one you marry. At our age, we hardy know what love is, so how can you say you were in love with the other and you can't go on now that they're gone? You are a teenager! You have your entire life ahead of you. Don't let what you feel about one person affect your ability to go day by day through life. It isn't healthy. Take it day by day and move on. You'll find your special someone, and when you do, you'll know it. :)))))
Autumnal Acidic Ailments
For all who haven't noticed, there're general connections between many of my posts. Thes connections include the fictional "Audrey" (the perfect girl I'll never have) and the stress resulting from fighting the seven sins (greed, pride, lust, envy, wrath, sloth, and gluttony) in my everyday life. So far, I've written two novels centered around the conflicts these connections pose, along with the temptation of "Alice" (the girlfriend I never wanted). Seeing as though many of you won't read these books for some time, I thought I might share a piece that gives a more blatant taste of the truth that bleeds from my bleating heart.
----------------------------------------------
"Seasonal Names"
Memories of Autumn consume me
As my mind breaks for the winter.
Summer is dead, yet Audrey
Shouts from an inconceivable distance.
Alice and Spring started my trouble;
Happy thoughts caused this mess.
Lust made tragedy double;
Climbing on her created my unrest.
Emerald eyes mocking the solstice,
In all it's completely tragic sin.
Few know what the result is,
Yet the equinox told it all.
Memories of Summer come at me
Now that I've forgotten her warmth.
But this changing of seasons is fatality
As were the words she kissed me so hard with.
What happens to us now
Claims the rage of melting ice.
Surely you wonder how,
But my answers faded with Autumn.
To my love...
Hell
The world was black but filled with a tremendous heat. I felt like I was on fire, but I wasn't in pain. It felt as if I were standing in the middle of a bonfire without touching a flame. I looked around but only darkness greeted me. A shrill scream pierced my eardrums. My hear dropped. I began to stumble about, looking for the source. The scream sounded again. Sweat dripped down my forehead and back. My heart pounded as my eyes strained to see through the dark. Another scream rang through the air.
A weight began to push down on me. The air itself felt heavy.
Silence began to encompass me. My ears no longer rang from the screams. I stopped. Standing in the darkness, I strained to hear it again. I found solace in the thought that another soul was here.
My ears ached. My eyes burned. My heart tried to break out of my chest.
A scream shot through the dark. Followed by another. I clasped my hands to my ears. The air was filled with never ending screams. Screams of twisted, tortured agony. I fell to the ground. Soon my screams joined them. My ears bled. My body convulsed in pain, and I was fully aware.
As Time Goes On
Time will go on
and things won't always be in your range,
but don't let yourself be turned into a pawn.
Being yourself is better than a change.
Some are fortunate enough to live longer.
Others are not as blessed.
As time goes by, you'll become stronger.
Hopefully this strength will lead to success.
Life doesn't always go as planned.
There will be many obstacles in your way,
but sometimes you just have to take a stand,
no matter where you may stay.
Just know that time will go on with or without you
and with or without what you may or may not do.
Forsaken
Joseph W. Here... New poem... opinions?
_______________________________________
Here, I stay
I hide, away
in this wholesome, covered shell
a piece of my own hell
The place, I may forever dwell...
There, I was
I bled, I cussed
I saw the body count, begin to rise
as a piece of me, was shattered like ice.
The fragments I have left, I now despise.
And alone I sit bleeding out my heart
on this God forsaken, lonely piece of art
candle wax dripping on this page
why should I suffer so, in this age...
And
This, is it
I watch, I sit
The carnage that ensued,
the wicked and the bruised
were left to fend for themselves
Its, okay
If I may
The people, they deserved this blood bath
and the children left to die in this aftermath...
were never worth sixpence... in my defense
My cold defense...
And alone I sit bleeding out my heart
on this God forsaken, lonely piece of art
candle wax dripping on this page
why should I suffer so, in this age...
I'm selfish and alone
My father would not condone
how did I get to be this way?
Our hatred and our lust
convincing us, we're just...
Its a sad confusion, in this world...
And on the ground, into a ball I curled...
Crying in pain, for redemption of my shame
No one hears a sound
For the battle of our hearts, was nowhere to be found...
I lay dying beneath a crest, one I did not recognize, adorned his breast.
His face was blocked by light, he said not a thing as my chest grew tight.
As he spoke, warmth and comfort filled the air
"You cried out for me, in the midst of your terror"
I nodded, and hid my head in shame
he said "Son, I'm glad you called my name"
alone I sat, bleeding out my heart...
on this God forsaken, lonely piece of art...
Candle wax, dripping on this page...
why should these people suffer, in this age?
Alone I sat, bleeding out my heart..
oh this lonely piece of art...
Yet there was someone there molding it from the start...
Nightmare
Alright guys, here is my post, enjoy! , Alex S
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I watched the pen as if in slow motion fall onto the floor. It rolled under the bed. I sighed and got down to get it. My hand reached for the pen in the darkness. I couldn't find it. "Where did it go?"  I continued to search. Suddenly my hand had touched something, it felt like a pen although it was ash-like. I reached a little further; my heart almost jumped through my chest. It was a finger. I quickly tried to pull back, but that finger was attached to a hand, which had grabbed my hand. I was petrified with fear. My mind was instantly filled with thoughts of evil. Amidst these thoughts, one came through asking the question: "What is happening to me?" I couldn't see anything but darkness. I fought desperately against the thing that was dragging me, but the harder I struggled the tighter his grip became. The thing kept pulling me until I was completely under the bed. I tried to scream, but nothing came out. I breathed in; there was no air. My whole body started to shake spontaneously; I was having a seizure! I looked up, sweat pouring over me, I saw that there was no bed above me...and with that thought I fell into unconsciousness.
Where was I? The thing's grip had disappeared. I wasn't lying on my bedroom floor anymore, but now on rocky ground. A blood red sky was painted before me, and then my back, my back was burning like fire! I jumped off the ground and onto my feet. I looked down.. My shoes were starting to melt. What is this place? Looking around I could see five blackened figures heading my way with their heads lowered. I was lost in indecision to either run to see who or what they were or run the other direction. Then a strong arm that was seemingly made of ashes grabbed my neck, thrust itself back and threw me to the ground. I looked up to see what it was. I wish I hadn't. It was some kind of creature with black holes where their eyes had been gouged out and rotted out teeth. Suddenly they were all over me and tearing the flesh off my bones. I screamed in agony, I knew now that this was Hell. I cried out for God to save me. And in that moment I awoke from my nightmare in a pool of sweat. I sat up in my bed and immediately began to ask God in my life and thanked him for his great and enduring love.
Winter Break
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas (possibly Hanukkah?) and I hope you all will have a wonderful New Years' celebration. I have had an absolutely wonderful winter break and I'm dreading the return to school. I only wish there were some snow here, but alas, there is none.
Here is a little poem for you all today. Perhaps you shall enjoy it.
Newfound
I've finally got it right.
I've finally figured it out.
Peace has finally entered
this cold and rainy soul.
Never have I felt it
quite like this.
The peace is all encompassing,
never failing to ease a troubled thought.
How could I have missed it?
How did I let it go before?
Now that I have it,
never will I let it go.
Newfound Hearts
Life is perilous, no? We're drawn to hate. We're drawn to ignorance. Eventually, pain is the outcome. Love seems to be the noun to fuel such desires most frequently. I am no different, and these past two weeks have proved to be difficult as a result. As a result, this next piece comes as a result of the desire in my heart that drives me towards hate, ignorance, and pain all the same.
------------------------------------------------------------
"A Single Lark Leans on My tree"
         We are star-crossed lovers. Can you sense the irony? Romeo and Juliet were too naïve to count the number of thoughts we've shared. Love, together we should dive but apart we must stay. Another by a similar name holds your heart. I'll never become such a thief.
          Life is more than a dream. Fate is more cruel than on screen. For each inch of my soul yearned for your embrace so long ago. You were my wife on stage but refused to become more than a friend in my delirious sleep.
          "Think happy thoughts," I murmur when you sat so close only days ago. You leaned against an arm rest--how I envied it...Alas, a poet creates this identity and a demon bites my tongue, lest I whisper your name too favorably. Think happy thoughts the words come once more. Sadness comes soon after wishes to fly home together fail. Yet, that smile...those lips that I'd joyfully kiss haunt me. Still, my mind ceases to be depressed. No! Personality like a beacon, darkness could never come between us.
          "Ma cheri amour" should be the label you adore from these lips that whisper your name secretively. But French lacks the flare of la morena hermosa that you truly are. Fewer times have we been together than my least attractive friend, but you continuously strike my heart in a novel way.
          Won't you come closer? Instead you utter, "Only time will tell." Yet, time kills our parental and friends alike. If waiting is key than this world only seems lonely. I wish for more than hope, more than faith, but impossibilities never quench my thirst.
          My heart on the line; my brain beneath the blade. Querida, maturity is lost upon my soul. Until you're by my side, I wish to never grow old.
In a world full of ideals, I seek the truth.
Aevum
Ciaossu!
Okay guys so as you may have noticed, last week a whole new list of writers introduced themselves. Kicking the week off was Alex Sempsrott, a mystery and thriller writer and a friend of Heidi. Secondly was a good friend of mine, Aulene, a poet sharing her work for the first time. Next up was one of our newest editors, Sharon, who made an awesome post to honor our remaining editors Logan and Elizabeth, under the direction of the lovely Terra ;) Last but most certainly not least, things were wrapped up with a beautiful piece by Robby White, ex-member of the band "Hear Me Out" and the 13th member of our staff.
It was an eventful week, and we are raring to get things started for the New Year. Next the blog will be evolving even further, becoming far more organized, some new artists, and a few other treats. ;) Until then, check out this newest poem I have made for you guys. It is another section out of my Project Searchman series. Enjoy and Happy Holidays!
=============================================
Aevum
Tick, Tock, Click, Clock.
Voices run, Thoughts undone.
No time here, so little left there.
How much longer am I in control?
How much longer until my sanity is gone?
Tick, Tock, Click, Clock.
My grip slips, my thoughts betrayed.
Actions taken without my consent.
No one stands in my way.
I thought I told you I shall win today?
Tick, Tock, Click, Clock.
You allowed the hands of midnight,
to passed without you in slumber.
Oh my dear raptor, I’ll make you extinct
as you slowly awake to my horror.
Tick, Tock, Click, Clock.
Oh how I hate the hope you have now,
how you worked to undo all I have achieved.
Let your haters be my motivation,
giving rise to your monstrosity.
Tick, Tock, Click, Clock.
I feel you ready to blow,
ready to unleash me into your crestfallen world.
Keep that head down, that’s right,
and take those blows without putting up a fight.
Tick, Tock, Click, Clock.
Oh if only they knew how it fed me,
when their attacks come your way.
The demon in you, craves to be free.
The creature in me, desires some mental meat.
Tick, Tock, Click, Clock.
But then she shows up, messing me up.
Ruining my plans, repairing your heart.
I start over again, hoping to win out,
as she does the impossible, resetting your clock.
Tick Tock, the clock has stopped.
The bomb cut. Your mind set away from me,
but do not worry, she will not always be there.
For this voice, my voice, is eternal,
and I’m not going anywhere.
Merry Christmas!
Since we didn't get our holiday post up yesterday I figured I would dedicate my post this week to telling our readers about how the LIF's Christmas went. Most of our members have given me a little story about how their Christmas went, and since I have to work a long shift today I need to post now. I will come back and edit this post and add in other Christmas experiences as I get them. Enjoy!
Elizabeth:
Well, our Christmas was a little different than usual this year, but there's one tradition we always hold on to no matter what- my dad buys each of us a new ornament, which we are not allowed to see until we open them and we always do ornaments first. He puts a lot of effort into finding really neat ones. This year. I got a Sherlock Holmes one because I read all the Original Stories for the first time this year and have become completely obsessed with anything Holmes related. (And my mom got a giraffe one because she really wishes those miniature giraffe commercials were real.) And despite how much I desperately needed this new laptop I'm typing this from and some of the other presents I got (which were all amazing!) my favorite present has got to be the earrings. I opened the obvious jewelry box and found earrings made of three pearls each, stacked on top of each other. My grandmother then says, "They're real; they're from my necklace," and then explains that she had matching pairs made for both of my girl cousins on that side of the family. So Meghan, Lauren (who wore said necklace just this summer in her wedding) and I all have matching earrings made from pearls that were part of our grandmother's necklace. I can't think of any physical present that better fits the christmas spirit.
Abi:
I slept in my family follows the German tradition, that means be open all of our presents on Christmas Eve. Since we had no more presents to open the next morning, we all slept until about 2:00pm because no one went to bed until about 5:00. So since we had no more presents yesterday we just played with the ones we got tonight before. My favorite present was a tie between getting my letterman jacket and getting Evanescence tickets!!!!!
Anora:
Slept in, went to grandma's house, favorite gift was a blanket given by my boyfriend. Opened gifts in the afternoon.
Quinton:
We woke up at around 8 and opened presents. I got a ps3 harry potter edition with 3d blu-ray harry potter included. I also got littlebigplanet, bioshock 2, a sports book, a gift card to wal-mart, and 40 bucks. Afterwards we hit the road to go to jackson, got here around 4. Had christmas dinner with my dads family and played xbox and watched basketball for the rest of the day.
Terra:
I woke up early and went to work. I worked until 1:15 and then went home and we opened up presents. Normally my family wakes up around 9 and opens the presents, but I had to work so this year we did Christmas a little differently. A tradition my family has is that every Christmas Eve my brother and I are able to open two presents. By now we both know what they are each year, but I still love that we keep the tradition going. The presents are always our Christmas pajamas, and our Christmas Ornament. My favorite gift that I got this year is The Lion King Diamond Edition. When I was little The Lion King was my absolute favorite movie, and as I have grown it still is. That present brought back a lot of memories for me, and because of those memories it easily became my favorite.
Sharon:
I spent Christmas in my room, since it's a little hard to talk to or bond with my stepdad and my mom had to work. I spent all day on IMVU and had a late Christmas dinner with my mom and stepdad.
So that is how some of the members of Life In Fiction spent their Christmas Day. I hope that all of our Readers had a wonderful Christmas, and that they got to spend it with the people they love.
The Truth
Hello, I am one of the new editors, but I may post something every once in a while. I don't show my writings very often, so feedback is always welcomed. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!
Current
Hay! I'm Aulene. I am new on here and I have never posted on here before. I'm super nervous for you to see my writing. No one has ever seen my writing before so I am open to criticism. Quinton and I have been friends for about a year and he has been creeping on me to join the blog. I have been writing ever since I had to move in ninth grade. My writing is all very dark but I promise I am not that bad in real life... kinda. Please post your comments and help me improve and grow. Thank you so much!!!!!!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can you feel it?
A current.
A current of thoughts,
dark thoughts.
Oh no... he saw me,
at the party.
I just wanted to yell
No!
Not him,
I don't.
I didn't.
I wouldn't.
NEVER!
Oh no.
The current died
and then I sat down.
Down to a dark place,
gone forever.
The current is not there
to pull me back up
to the surface
to breath.
The current is gone
from me
forever...
No One
Hey guys, this is my first post, so I figured I'd post one of the first things I've ever written. Read and enjoy!
Alex S.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
I was called by the Most High to save more souls,
But Abaddon has enticed me in my own desires.
I have lost sight of my mission.
It was my own doing, I knew where it would lead me.
I feel no pain or hurt, only guilt,regret,and sorrow.
Will the Most High come and save me?
I am calling out, but no one can hear me.
Can no one see how entangled I am?
No one sees me nor hears me.
I guess this is how it will end;
lost in the web of my own desires.
I am laying here having lost all desire for anything,
But I am suddenly taken aback.
The Most High and His mighty crusade has come to rescue me.
Tears flood eyes as joy enters my heart.
Then the Most High breaks these chains and lifts me into his chariot.
Guilt once again enters my body, but is quickly pushed away by a soft whisper,
saying,"You are forgiven, now live in paradise with me."
Happy Friday!!
So for my writing piece today I have a bit of a new story I am working on. Enjoy.
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
Dreams
Tess smiled and batted her eyelashes as she sat in his lap. He was the sole person she could actually sit with in person, even though technically, she just passed right through him. He was gorgeous as always, a stone cold sort of beautiful that seemed completely lethal. Tess slowly altered her outfit into a sexy red dress with a split up the left leg; she knew he loved her in red. She slowly ran her finger up the slit and flashed a seductive smile at him, “If you would sleep we could play.” She told him, a glint in her eye. She knew that he rarely slept, and when he did she knew better than to slip into his dreams. Damien wasn’t a man you wanted to anger. He knew how to hold a grudge. Tess knew that first hand.
His face which is usually so still and expressionless cracked and for a brief moment he smiled.  That small smile sent a buzz of excitement through Tess. She had followed him through his days, observing his interactions with the people in his life and she knew that no one had achieved such a smile from him. He was all business with nearly every person he came in contact with. But not her, never quite with her. She figured that not being a real person made it possible for him to let himself relax a little more in her presence. She wasn’t a threat to him; she never could be.
Damien fought the urge to reach and brush a strand of hair out of her face. His attempt would be wasted since he couldn’t touch her. He could have any girl he wanted, but never her. Tess had always been just out of his reach. Tess could make no contact with humans in reality, but in a dream she could do as she wished with them. The dream world was hers to command, Tess made dreams come true. Never Damien’s though. Damien thought it was ironic that the one person who could see her while not dreaming was the one guy Tess had denied. Damien loved thinking that Tess was stuck with him for eternity now. Naturally she could choose to live a life of solitude, and fall into dreams for all of her social interactions. Tess would never choose that though, she still hoped that her condition could be reversed.
Tess was sure that Damien was the key to making everything better. If Damien was the key, he was going to make sure that Tess paid for the torment she had caused him.
×
Slowly Tess ran her finger over his cheek; she was at the point right before her hand would pass right through him. She liked to pretend that her touch felt like that of a feather to him, but she really had no idea how her touch felt to him. She frowned when he stood up and left her sitting in the chair. Quickly Tess hid the frown and put on an expression that showed his denial meant nothing to her. She didn’t want him to know that he had the power to upset her or toy with her emotions. She may be stuck with him, but she wasn’t about to give him the satisfaction of knowing that she longed for his company now. She watched with a clear expression as he slid into his coat, put his wallet into his pocket, and left the house.
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
Friday already... wow. Time seriously flies by for me. Exciting things have been happening on all fronts of my life. Writing wise, I realized that I know an author in real life. This was a huge deal for me because it makes my dream of being published and making a living off of writing seem like a possibility. Another exciting aspect is that this author is willing to read my work. So I will be dabbling in writing stories for children, stories from my heart.
On the blog front there has been a lot of recruiting going on, and a lot of new things being planned and put into motion. The LIF team is growing, which means more variety of authors, some intro to amazing artists, and the introduction of an editing team. Be sure to check back for more details about the good things to come.
The next exciting thing is that I am enrolling in college this month. Classes will start in January for me, and I am thrilled. I've loved school and learning my whole life and am eager to get back to school. I love the structured routines that come with having classes and set schedules. Due to starting up with school, I may be busy and may have to set writing on the sidelines to focus on my class work. However, I do plan to take a few writing courses so that I can improve and learn more about my hobby.
The Hallway
Hey guys, Joseph W. Here. Its been awhile, I know. I'm just so busy these days between filming, my band and school... And to add to that, I've had massive writers block... But I actually have a poem for you this week.
Hope you enjoy
______________________________________________________________________________________
The Hallway
The hallway is long
the hallway is dark
I hear whispers of songs
and see Shadows in sparks
I'm restless, as the figure crawls near me
I look to my left, for someone dear to me
By my side sits nothing at all
but it was never there in the first place if I recall
The flickering lights add to the charade,
I raise my hand to my heart,
as the figure begins to fade.
The lights come on
nothing is around
the figure is gone
the world makes not a sound.
From nowhere my heart starts to jump
faster faster, the blood starts to pump
I raise my hand in the dim lit hall
one lunge and i then fall
on the ground i lay, bleeding, dying
on the floor i lay, dirty, crying.
I cry out for help but no help can be found
I look to the sky, as the dark closes in all around.
I lay there in my own shadow, for hours upon hours
"Son" a whisper said to me, you may be healed through my power.
In all my heart i wanted this help, but pride was my downfall, Something kept me felled.
Days seemed to pass, the bleeding grew worse, though i would not bleed out.
the pain was persistent I was ready to die.
But the voice said to me, "son, it is not your time"
I refused it again, I wouldn't take help, no not from him.
I was to die this way, by the enemies will, at my own hand.
the voice said "Son you no longer have a say, i will soften your heart, you will obey"
I cried out in terror, as the light flashed around.
the hallway was lit, and the walls then crashed down.
The shadows were gone, my wound was healed
there was a peace in my heart, the one that i used to feel.
back before, the whispers, and sparks.
Back before the creatures of the dark.
No longer was I scared, no longer was I sad.
No more dying, no more sorrow, Free from all terror.
I stood up, clothed in white, and a man approached me.
he tapped my shoulder and said "Son, follow me"
Through all my pride, i could not accept it.
but i needed help, and my ignorance, i regret it.
No more will i hide in darkness, no more will i sharpen my own blade.
No longer shall I sulk in my own shadow, but i shall walk tall in a new faith.
My Molly
          Winter break has started here at OSU, and Columbus has probably lost at least 10% of its population. Seriously, as I'm writing this, I'm probably one of only two people left in my dorm. It's strangely quiet...but I digress.
          Earlier this week, I was eating lunch when I saw a young, attractive girl (probably 19 years old). She was eating lunch alone, while typing away at her laptop. If I hadn't have had a math final in less than an hour, I probably would have introduced myself, or something more than what I did. This next piece is something I imagined after we exchanged glances the first time. (Bonus points if you can guess the origin of the title.)
__1__
____2____
______3______
"Every Man Has a Molly"
         Softly she sits. Her eyes stare hard at the space between the lines. Black hair and brown eyes. Bright clothes worn loosely. A beauty may exist in her soul but all who come close go other ways. All stand outside her world. Never has she complained until now, when the man she likes stares back with disdain.
          Food in front of him. A computer in front of her. He lives for life, but she only knows confusion. He would never go for a girl like me. Her thoughts go on. Temptation taunts the table. Lust fills her eyes. To the one she wishes to hold her, she can only be despised.
          He stands. She hopes for something more. He's done. She wants to finish. Closer, he gets. Their eyes are locked with determination. Closer still, his feet bring him. "Hey," she whispers as he goes the other way. She's lost and can only stare on.
          Life is funny. Give it credit for that at least. Some things work out, others just tear. Laughs form around silent irony. Eyes form cold tears. Late nights are dark times, but she still sits silently.
Life is but a dream.
Sora Kū
Konnichiwa!
Just because you can't see me, doesn't mean I'm not there.
Okay guys so L.I.F. shall be switching up how the posting schedule works thanks to our new family member! So the way the new posting schedule works is that one member will be posting everyday, five times a week as usual. The difference is that one member will be on break every week, so you may be forced to wait a week if you are looking for a specific writer. However, both Terra and Anora have their own blogs, Individuality and Aspiraions Bloom, so you can go there if you desire to read their information. FINALLY, let's get down to business... today's post! Here is another poem from the Project Searchman series, hope you enjoy it!
============================================
Sitting in a void as crowded
as a high school hallway.
Separated by a space
as wide as the sky?
Why won't I say a word?
Because I am afraid.
You're sitting right in front of me,
but you're still out of range of soul.
I had you in my hands thrice,
So chance four is an impossible request.
In a world full of mistakes,
My only regret is you.
How could I possibly win?
With troubled thoughts a plenty.
I'm slower than others,
but far more loving.
Blue Sky, Night Stars,
give me answers,
heal the fissure in my mind,
give the courage to speak.
The quintessential energy
that evokes the thoughts of you,
powers the imagination
that gets us all through.
This energy moves me through
the past everyday,
But before I know it,
thoughts of you are already in the....
And Then There Was Six
Konnichiwa!
So today I would like to introduce the newest member to the Life in Fiction family, Heidi! She's the little the sister of fellow blogger Joseph and a novelist. :) For today's post, I thought that the Life in Fiction crew could sit down and ask her a few questions so you could be better accustomed with our newest blogger.
Quinton: What made you decide to join Life in Fiction?
Well, Joseph first asked me a while back and I was pretty bound and determined that it simply wasn't possible. Then Anora and Tara started after me, I was still against it. And then Quinton happened... well I was finally convinced. So here I am.
Quinton: Tell us about yourself, who's your inspiration, what are your hobbies and goals/dream in life?
Oh where to begin? I'm quite a strange person. My passion is imagination. There's a vast world in my head filled with characters, countries, cultures just waiting to be written... whether all of it will be or not depends on my attention span. However I hope to write books upon books involving everything in my head :) My inspiration? Hmm, G.K. Chesterton comes to mind as a big inspiration. My mother, of course. My brother Pete. Is it weird that I'm about to say St. Patrick? Well him too. So many people inspire me, it's impossible to name them all. :) Hobbies? Writing, of course, drawing, and singing are my main hobbies. Goals and dreams. To become a published author (so cliche), a singer, a Disney Princess, an Irish legend... oh you get the picture. But, another big dream would be to assist in the elimination of the abuse of women. :)
Quinton: How did you start writing?
I've been writing since I could, honestly. I've always had a story to tell. I can remember the first time I used the letter "Q" in a story... I have no idea why. It was in a story about this girl who wakes up to find a group of aliens in her living room, including a King and Queen. :) That was about 1st or 2nd grade. It wasn't until 3rd and 4th that I really started to write. That was when Joseph and his friends came up with an imaginary world that I've basically taken over since then. ;) I wrote my first book at the age of 11 and 12 and well... haven't stopped :)
Joseph: How tall are you?
I am 6'1. Just a big freak.
Joseph: Why haven't you been answering my knocks on the window. I've been trying for weeks?
The real question is, why haven't you returned the sword to me!? I'm the only one who can stop the Flaugernaut invasion!
Alex: What's your biggest strengths/weaknesses?
Oh man, I'm very strong-willed and independent, which is both a strength and a weakness. I don't really know. I'd have to think about it for quite a while.
Alex: What's your favorite scary movie?
I don't really watch scary movies. The closest I've come are M. Night Shyamalan flicks. My favorite of those would be either "The Village" or "Signs".
==================
Awesome introduction for our newest member Heidi! :) She will be posting next week on Wednesday for her first post, so stay tuned and treat her nice. ;) Until tomorrow, stay classy my friends!
Hustle
Hustle
the rush the bustle
all that hustle
move, keep moving
don't stop
don't slow
move. Move. MOVE.
Don't stand here
amongst the crowd
blurred faces passing you
a stream and a river
of top hats and longs coats
of blue eyes and dark faces.
Don't slow US down
as we hurry and be productive
as we forget the meaning of leisure,
of relaxing and unwinding.
Don't slow us down
because you need to stand still.
Keep busy.
Do work.
Go from dance to self-defense
from yoga to your nine-to-five job
from soccer to the sports bar
from the bar to the club
from your friend's home to the movies.
Keep moving.
Lose breath and you lose.
If you can't do it,
you're too slow
too weak
too incompetent.
You body is limp with inability
a flimsy piece of paper
that can't support a dream.
So keep moving.
Be busy and hustle
follow all that bustle.
Calling an Audible for Autumn's End
December starts a new schedule for the Life In Fiction crew and all of you. Each Monday, Alex will post a piece or something of relative relavance. (Yes, I'm aware I just referred to myself in the first person. I like it that way.)
As always, this week I'm bringing forth a piece to show you the how reality is fictitious. In fact, the girl at the center of this piece--who was responsible for last week's post--is a friend of mine who has no clue these pieces exist. Let's see if she notices this time.
"Sweetly Sarah"
          You sit next to me. We've been here many times before. Voices whisper as images flash upon the screen. A singular glance puts you at the center of my thoughts.
          Actors on the screen tell us how life's supposed to be. We both know things could never be so perfect. Perfection can never be reached. Although, you constantly trick my mind into seeing it as your denotation.
          Good men turn to monsters upon love's injection. Yet, you glance back with a smile upon your face. The connotation of it all sends a shiver down my spine. Soon you turn back, but the pseudo-sanctuary of the cinema lacks interest in my eyes. Your wonderful smile appears more entrancing.
          Curled around the cup-holder, your saintly fingers beckon for my touch. I shan't--I can't--give in. An explosion of emotion on the screen reminds me of the bomb trapped in my heart. Horrid as I am, giving it away would surely mean destruction. Holding it in means suicide, but my death lacks the detestable twist of your demise.
          Life on the screen fades to gray. Tears fill your eyes, almost infecting mine. Chances are you won't stay at my side. No, real life is never so grand. Our night ends with the movie. My day ends with your final smile my way. Afterwards, the clouds come and dreams test my sorry eyes. Yes, I've been here many times before. Still, I come back; for every tragic end is worth the pain.
My life shall never become fiction; for it is only fiction.
